Cold rolling metal technique

... the cost-effective solution!

Metal forming refers to a range of manufacturing techniques to deform metal sections to create a specific shape intentionally.

Cold forming, also known as cold rolling, is our specialty and primary method of curving. Cold rolling and mandrel bending, is a process where curvature is induced by load application at room temperature. These methods require greater force than warm or hot forming, but they help maintain the strength and durability of the metal.

The process involves using a set of three or round dies (or moulds) of an appropriate size, which adjusts to the steel tube, angle, pipe, channel, bar or steel beam. The dies revolve at the same speed but in opposite directions and applies pressure to bend the material to the desired radius.

Cold rolling requires less setup work than hot rolling, which involves heating the metal to above the recrystallisation temperature. The cost is lower than that of other methods of bending and forming steel. As a result, many companies choose this method when it meets their specific requirements.

Another advantage to cold rolling is an excellent surface finish on the metal product. Furthermore, cold forming is accurate and energy-efficient, leading to faster production times.
